Spring Festival
Introduction: The Spring Festival is the most important festival for the Chinese people and is when all family members get together, just like Christmas in the West.
Time: The 1st day of the 1st lunar month
Qingming Festival
Introduction: The Qingming (Pure Brightness) Festival is one of the 24 seasonal division points in China and is the most important day of sacrifice. Both the Han and minority ethnic groups at this time offer sacrifices to their ancestors and sweep the tombs of the deceased.
Time: April 4-6 each year
Dragon Boat Festival
Introduction: This festival is firstly in commemoration of Qu Yuan (minister of the State of Chu and one of China's earliest poets, 340-278 BC). Chinese people also held dragon boat racing and eat Zongzi then.
Time:The 5th day of the 5th lunar month
Mid-Autumn Festival
Introduction: The moon looks extremely round, big and bright on the 15th day of each lunar month. People selected the August 15 to celebrate because it is a season when crops and fruits are all ripe and weather pleasant. On the Mid-Autumn Festival, all family members or friends meet outside, putting food on tables and looking up at the full moon while talking about life and the beautiful legend about Chang E.
